TEACH Scholarship Program

T.E.A.C.H. (Teacher Education and Compensation Helps) Early Childhood® Texas Scholarship Programis an educational scholarship opportunity for early childhood educators who work in the licensed childcare setting across Texas.  These comprehensive scholarships enable early childhood educators to take coursework leading to credentials and degrees at local community colleges and universities in Texas.  By supporting higher education, the program is helping to establish a well-qualified, fairly compensated, and stable workforce for Texas children and families.

T.E.A.C.H. is a proven, effective strategy through its use of five key elements: Education, Scholarship, Support, Commitment, and Compensation.

Education

Scholarship recipients increase their knowledge base‚ which improves the early care and education the children in their programs receive.

Scholarship

Comprehensive scholarships enable early childhood educators to take coursework leading to credentials and degrees at local community colleges and universities throughout the state of Texas.

TE.A.C.H. scholarship models utilize a cost-sharing partnership between the scholarship recipient, their sponsoring employer and T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Texas.

Support

Each scholarship recipient and their sponsoring employer are assigned a T.E.A.C.H. specialist.   The specialist supports the recipient and sponsoring employer as they navigate the entire scholarship process.  Associate and bachelor degree scholarship models also have financial supports.

Commitment

Each scholarship model includes a period in which the recipient commits to remain employed with the sponsoring employer at the completion of each scholarship contract.

Compensation

Financial incentive awards from T.E.A.C.H. and the sponsoring employer are included in each scholarship model.
