Rhonda Crabbs
Director of Educators
Rhonda holds a Bachelor’s Degree (Summa Cum Laude), a Master’s Degree, and a Doctorate, all in Early Childhood Education. Her academic success is complemented by her ability to build strong connections with both children and adults. Her educational philosophy is rooted in play-based learning, with a strong emphasis on social-emotional development. As a passionate advocate for early childhood education, she works tirelessly to ensure the implementation of high-quality programs that focus on developmentally appropriate practices. Her research primarily focuses on how teacher-to-student ratios and class sizes affect a child’s overall development.
Rhonda has held various roles and has over 30 years of experience in the early childhood field.She has taught in public schools and at the university level, owned and operated a childcare facility, and served as a trainer and consultant. She also dedicated ten years to the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children’s Board, where she served a term as President.
Rhonda’s contributions to the field have earned her numerous accolades, including the Campfire Blue Ribbon Award, Phyllis Jack Moore Professional Development Award, Libby Linebarger Award, and most recently, the 2024 TXAEYC Excellence in Leadership Award.
Above all, Rhonda cherishes her role as the mother of three wonderful children and the grandmother of her beloved granddaughters. Time with her family is of the utmost importance to her, whether it is a lazy afternoon at home or going on a trip with everyone. Her hobbies include reading, the beach, and spending time in nature.
